Rod Heggy says he was drawn to the legal profession as a result of watching far too many Perry Mason reruns -- and by the inspiration of his father’s law enforcement career. Rod never expected to have the resources to attend college, graduate school and law school. However, thanks to his successes in high school debate, and ultimately thanks to what Rod believes was divine design, opportunity knocked, and Rod gladly answered the call.
Rod debated for U.S. Grant High School in Oklahoma City, ascending to the Semifinals of the 1973 State High School Debate Championship. That success earned him a debate scholarship to Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where he and his debate partner won the Regional Tournament and the right to compete in the 1976 National Debate Tournament in Boston, MA. Rod also enjoyed a brief career in radio and television during his college and graduate school years.
During law school at the University of Houston, Rod clerked for Fulbright & Jaworski, one of the most prestigious law firms in the nation. Returning to the Sooner State after earning his Juris Doctorate, Rod worked with three Oklahoma City firms during the '80s and '90s before launching Heggy & Associates in 2003.

Rod Heggy focuses on matters tried to juries in state and federal courts, usually involving securities, employment, personal injury, malpractice, medical devices, industrial products and services, environmental law, and insurance law (including first- and third-party coverages). Rod also has considerable experience trying matters before arbitration panels, typically involving securities, associated persons, employment, broker-dealers and franchises.
